What We Do

At Stacey’s Purple Daisy Foundation, our mission is simple but deeply meaningful: we show up for people battling cancer when they need it most. Not just with financial support, but with compassion, dignity, and a reminder that they are not alone.

Every person we help is facing a different kind of fight. Some are struggling to keep up with basic bills. Others are traveling for treatment, juggling work, or trying to care for their families while navigating the physical and emotional toll of cancer. We step in wherever we can make a real, immediate difference.

We support individuals and families in a variety of ways, depending on their needs.

• Purple Packages: Thoughtful care packages filled with small comforts and encouragement for those who need an emotional lift.
• Everyday Essentials: Gift cards for clothing, groceries, or necessities, especially for those whose lives have been turned upside down by treatment.
• Travel Support: Assistance with gas, lodging, and other expenses for those who must travel for care.
• Direct Financial Relief: In our most urgent cases, we provide direct financial assistance. These checks often arrive unexpectedly, offering relief at a moment when it’s needed most.

One recipient shared that she had a pile of unopened mail because it was filled with overdue bills. When she finally opened it, she found our check inside, something she never expected, but desperately needed.

We’ve helped individuals who were relying on food banks while fighting cancer. We’ve supported someone working full-time during treatment and delivering food at night just to stay afloat. These are not rare stories, they are the reality for many of the people we serve.

One of our most recent recipients is a mother of three going through her second battle with cancer. At the time she was referred to us, she had just $1.70 in her bank account. That’s the kind of moment we step into, when someone has run out of options and just needs someone to show up.

Our recipients are referred to us by people connected to our foundation, those who have attended our events, volunteered, or know someone within our community. This referral, based approach helps us ensure that funds are going to individuals and families with genuine, immediate need.

We are acutely aware that there are countless people who could use help. While we wish we could support everyone, we focus on doing as much as we can, as responsibly as we can, with the resources available.

It is also important to share this: while the foundation is named in Stacey’s honor, she did not need the financial assistance we provide to many recipients. She was fortunate to be able to provide for her family during her illness. However, she absolutely understood the emotional toll of cancer and would have appreciated the encouragement, love, and Purple Care Package support we now give to others. Many of the people we help are facing both the emotional and financial burdens of cancer without the same support system. Stacey’s compassion, gratitude, and empathy remain at the heart of this foundation’s mission.

Stacey passed away just three weeks after her 49th birthday. That following November, what was meant to be a joyful celebration of her 50th, became something entirely different.

Instead of marking the occasion with a party, we chose to create something lasting. Something that would reflect who Stacey truly was.

That year, we held the very first Stacey’s 50th Birthday Benefit, now our largest fundraiser of the year.

What started as a way to honor her has become a powerful tradition. It’s a night filled with energy, dancing, laughter, and community, everything Stacey loved. The event also includes an auction and raffle, helping us raise critical funds to continue our mission.

In addition to this signature event, we host a variety of fundraisers throughout the year, both in person and online. Every event, big or small, plays a role in allowing us to reach more people in need.

Everything we do is powered entirely by volunteers, Stacey’s friends, family, and supporters who continue to show up year after year.

No one receives a paycheck. Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping those in need.

That makes the impact even more meaningful. What we give is not just financial support, it is time, effort, and love, freely given in Stacey’s name.

Her kindness, her energy, her love for people, that is what lives on through this foundation.

And while we cannot change every outcome, we can change moments. We can ease burdens. We can remind someone, even in their hardest days, that there are people who care.

That is what we do. And with your support, we will continue to do even more.
