Stacey's Purple Daisy Foundation Co. was created in loving memory of Stacey Marie (O'Brien) Artino who sadly succumbed to cancer on December 3, 2021 after a courageous and drawn out fight. Stacey was a person whose life was led by generosity and faith and who touched the lives of all who knew her. When she saw those in need, Stacey never winced at the problem before her but, instead, always worked to figure out what could be done, who she knew, and, more importantly, how could she help. Although her generosity was on display all year long, it shined the brightest during the holiday season. There would be no family hungry, no child cold, or kids without gifts if she were involved. Even during Stacey’s multiple bouts with cancer over 20 years, her humility always remained, wondering how she could help others and never asking for help herself. She left this world touching the lives of many by the selflessness and kindness she showed to all.
Our promise to Stacey is to make sure that her vision is fulfilled. We will continue to spread her generosity by vowing that 100% of all money raised will be received by someone also confronting this same battle. When we said goodbye to Stacey in December of 2021, we all chose to wear purple, knowing it was the color she loved. However, there is one more symbol that the purple daisy represents: the flower of eternal life. We were reminded of Stacey’s mission so beautifully in the spring of 2022 when, miraculously, the yellow daisies that grew in her garden year after year were suddenly joined by one single purple daisy—a reminder of the hope that can come from one seed.
We have given away $219,117 to worthy recipients through fundraising efforts and donations.
